Valdepeñas Wine
Who has never tasted Valdepeñas Wine? Millions of
people have enjoyed it, finding one of the most aprecciated
products of spanish gastronomy.
Migas de Pastor
The "migas"
is a simple but delicious lunch made out of bread,
salt, water, and bacon. There are many ways to cook
them, and you can have them with grapes, fried eggs,
fish, chocolat, coffee... Strongly recommended.
Gachas
Another tipical
product from La Mancha is Gachas, an ancient sheperd´s
food. They spent many days out of home, and carried
big quantities of pork´s meat and flour to make this
lunch.
Pisto Manchego
The basic
ingredients for pisto are tomatoe, that should be red,
without skin, without seeds, and mature. You will also
need green pepper, garlic and onion, and, if you want
purple eggplant.
Queso Manchego
The Cheese
from La Mancha, "Queso Manchego", is a jewel of spanish
gastronomy, famous all around the world. Is a product
made out the milk of a particular sheep, autochthonous
from this zone of Spain.
Asadillo Manchego
Another delicious
lunch of La Mancha is Asadillo, made out of tomatoes,
cumins, peppers, oil, garlic, and salt. You can eat
it with fried eggs and bread.
And of course, la Berenjena
de Almagro
A glass of
good wine and a Berenjena
(eggplant) are a wonderful "tapa" to enjoy a quiet
moment sitting on a bar of the Plaza Mayor. Its particular
taste, and its artesanal preparation makes the eggplant
one of the most appreciated "tapas" from Almagro. Why
